UCPel (Universidade Católica de Pelotas), the oldest university in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs aimed at creating competent professionals. 

The institution, founded in 1960, is recognized for its excellence in research. Several UCPel faculty members were listed as the most influential scientists of Latin America in the 2022 Scientific Index.
