Meeting people in Kigali is quite easy, especially if you’re outgoing and have a wide variety of interests. One of the quickest ways to meet friends is to move into a shared house. There’s also a Facebook group for every activity you could think of, so look around and you’re sure to find your tribe. Keep an eye out for events at major hotels and at coworking spaces like Impact Hub. Another option is to join the Hash House Harriers, a global running group with an active chapter in Kigali. The foreign community in Kigali is warm and welcoming, and you can usually find plenty of other recent arrivals eager to explore. Rwandans can be reserved, but if you attend church, get involved in neighborhood activities or work in a local company you’ll find that many are eager to get to know you.
